Frequently Asked Questions

Starting therapy often comes with a lot of questions, and that is completely normal. This page is here to help you better understand what to expect, how sessions work, and how to get started with Healing Hearts, Healing Minds, MA. If you do not see your question here, feel free to reach out directly.

Do you offer in-person or virtual therapy?

Both. Sessions are available in-person in West Springfield and virtually for clients anywhere in Massachusetts.

I provide individual therapy for teens (14+) and adults, as well as couples therapy. My approach is trauma-informed and may include CBT, ACT, EFT-informed work, psychodynamic therapy, and Imago Relationship Therapy for couples.

Yes. I accept HNE, Cigna, Aetna, Harvard Pilgrim, United Healthcare, UMR, Optum, BCBS, Blue Benefit, and Anthem. Credentialing with Medicare is currently pending.

Individual therapy ranges from $65 to $150 per clinical hour depending on sliding scale availability. Couples therapy starts at $200 for 60 minutes and $275 for 90 minutes.

If you are using insurance, your cost depends on your specific plan. I recommend contacting your insurance company directly to understand your deductible, copay, and coverage for outpatient mental health services.

The No Surprises Act requires providers to give uninsured or self-pay clients a Good Faith Estimate of expected costs before services begin. If your final bill is $400 or more above that estimate, you have the right to dispute the charge through a formal process.

It is helpful to ask your insurance company the following:

  • Do I have outpatient mental health coverage?
  • Do I need a referral for therapy?
  • What is my deductible and has it been met?
  • What is my copay or coinsurance per session?
  • Do I have coverage for telehealth sessions?
  • Is this provider in-network under my specific plan?

Please provide at least 24 hours notice if you need to cancel or reschedule a session. Late cancellations or missed sessions may be subject to a fee.

A Good Faith Estimate (GFE) is a written estimate of expected therapy costs provided to uninsured or self-pay clients before services begin. It is designed to ensure transparency around fees and what you can expect financially.

You can get started by filling out the contact form on the website. I will follow up to schedule a consultation and answer any initial questions.
